The Feral Kid is Back!
If you are here, you probably love retro games as much as we do. So, we assume you must be excited by the announcement of the return of Tomba!
If, however, you don’t know what we are talking about, Tomba! (known as Tombi! In some regions) was one of those games everyone had seen somewhere and maybe played for a bit during the original PlayStation’s run. The 1997 game pitted Tomba, a feral, caveman-like guy with purple hair, against an army of anthropomorphic pigs (years before Angry Birds started fighting evil pigs), using many platformer game elements.
Tomba! had a cult following, even though it didn’t sell that greatly. It did spawn a 1999 sequel though, and it was also re-released on the PlayStation Network. Still, it was one of those games that people remember fondly while waiting forever for a new entry in the series. Until now…
A few days ago, an announcement dropped that Tomba! will be remade in a much more polished version. The game will be released by Limited Run, a company known for reviving old franchises, and will also feature a reworked soundtrack. It is planned to come out for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. There is no release date yet.
